Hope Island Resort has Superfast Broadband

hope-island-resort-everything-img_0110Teletechnique Pty Ltd has added another site to the long list of projects over the years.  This time it is Hope Island Resort on Australia’s Gold Coast where a 25 year old Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) cable television system was revamped and connected to Superfast Broadband.   The HFC systems was always there to deliver television, security and a site wide intercom system for the residents, but was never used for Internet delivery. Sometime during 2015 the joint Bodies Corporate found that the residents couldn’t get any faster speeds on the local ADSL lines and the nbn™ roll-out didn’t even list the place in the next three year roll-out plan.  So, the Bodies Corporate decided to do their own thing and their residents now have access to 50 Mbps broadband or more on their very own HFC system.  Just in time to accommodate the latest Netflix movie streams.  Many homes at Hope Island Resort have home theatres or media rooms equipped with projectors and/or modern 4K large screen smart TV sets.  Hitherto the local video store would hired out plenty of DVD movies, but that has changed into streaming video in Netflix style, where many thousands of movie titles are readily available for streaming to your home as you want it and when you want it (on-demand).   This is what a modern HFC system with DOCSIS 3.0 cablemodems can do for you.

Hope Island Resort is a large gated community with an integrated golf course and an extensive marina, located on the Northern part of Australia’s Gold Coast, near Sanctuary Cove.   There are some 1600 developed home sites with a few hundred more to go.  Shopping centres are nearby.  On-site fitness centre and sporting facilities complete a very much in-demand suburb for those who like the Gold Coast life-style.
